Casting Call!!

I announced on Facebook last Friday that I had a Casting Call that I was getting ready to launch and it is here! Read below for the details!

Casting Call!

Who: Open to newborns, babies (preferably 6-9 months or only sitting or standing on their own), children (especially 6-12 year olds), teens, seniors, engaged couples, families, maternity (must be between 34-36 weeks). I’m also needing casting call applicants that are willing to be dressed appropriately! Please contact Amii on what to wear. The more outfits you bring, the more variety you will have to choose from when it comes to your images!

What: NO session fee ($200 savings!) and NO minimum to purchase (usually $500 minimum purchase!). I am offering ALL collections at 30% OFF and all canvases are BYGO HALF OFF! The session is for up to 4 people, there will be a $50 fee per additional person at the session.

Where: Outdoors within 20 miles of zip code 75077 – I have several locations from which you can choose.

When: Session must take place by November 30, 2009. Contact Amii for available dates/times.

Why: I’m looking to try out some new locations and some different techniques and that means YOU win!

How: Sessions last between 1-2 hours, depending on the mood of you and/or your family! Small children may only last 1 hour and that is fine! Newborns typically last from 3-4 hours to allow plenty of feedings, soothing, cuddling and sleepy time! Please understand that if you are late to the session, you are cutting into your session time and it will NOT be made up. No rain checks can be made.

NOTES: Please note that even though there is no obligation to purchase anything on your part, you WILL be required to sign a Portrait Contract and Model Release before your session date. Failure to do so will void your scheduled date/time and will NOT be made up. I'm looking to add images to my website, blog and my marketing material and that is why I require a Model Release!

Please email me with any questions, inquiries about dates/times available, etc. Once you book your date, I will email you my price list, model release, policies and portrait contract. I will also let you know about "What to Wear" to make your images the best they can be!

Falling for Fall : Highland Village Children's Photographer

I've never been a cold weather fan but this fall was welcome. Fall to me means trees changing colors, cool and slightly windy days and sweatshirts. It always puts me in a pensive mood, like a time of reflection and I always think about how I could have enjoyed each passing day a LITTLE bit better. But I know my heart is full regardless if I think I could have been a better mom, wife, daughter, housekeeper, photographer, etc. So to celebrate fall and to take advantage of the day, we finally got some falling leaves and I took my son out to enjoy them. He was in heaven!

I love Saturdays...

Even though I am lucky enough to work from home, I find that I enjoy it when the weekends roll around as much as my husband does. There's something so incredibly comforting about knowing my family is sleeping in while I creep out of bed to get myself a cup of coffee.

I also LOVE to cook, it's a huge passion of mine and has been for quite some time. Interesting fact about me: I started a catering business when I was 19 years old! I loved it a lot but once I had my son, I found the job extremely demanding, more-so than my newborn child. So, I gave it up to focus my efforts on him.

Weekends are when I experiment in the kitchen, I sift through tons of cookbooks the way most people would the latest celebrity trash magazine. I make notes, jot down ingredients, look over my pantry and fridge contents and then I'm off to the store. This morning was not unlike most Saturday mornings, except I didn't need to rush to the store. I had everything I needed to make the most deliciously rich cinnamon sticky buns ever.

This was a culmination of two separate recipes from two different sources: Ina Garten's Easy Sticky Buns (sans nuts and raisins) and Food Network Mag's Copycat Cinnabon Cinnamon Buns. I have to say, these were incredibly easy and it's one of those perfect lazy weekend morning recipes since you usually will have (or could have should you remember to grab some puff pastry from the freezer section) the ingredients on hand.

I decided to for-go the nuts and raisins, mainly because I'm just not a fan of raisins and nuts in sweet treats...I can handle them in savory dishes but just can't do it in my sweets! I whipped up the icing from the Food Network mag and drizzled it over the hot buns.

This was definitely a sweet beginning to my weekend! What are your favorite ways to enjoy the weekend?

My Dapper Little Gentleman : Lewisville Children's Photographer

I couldn't be more pleased with the pictures I got of my son this past week. The locations, the clothing, the sweet little boy...all came together EXACTLY as I had envisioned. He is not the easiest little guy to get pictures of but he did just swell, especially for being 5 and wearing his fall/winter clothing when it was 85 degrees outside! I've got another few locations to test out this week, along with some more handsome outfits!

Photog Meet-Up

I got together with several other North Texas photographers recently and we had a blast getting to use our skills on our little models. Other than a few accidents involving cactus and fireants, it was a great time!! Here are a few of my faves from the meet-up:

Oh my goodness! The hair! The freckles! The eyes! I loved photographing this kid!

The backlighting was so pretty at this time of day...doesn't it just scream "FALL"?

This little sweetie had to be bribed with Smarties but it was all worth it!

These twin brothers were full of energy and so funny but the minute you pointed your camera at them, they were SO serious!

I just love the mood captured here!
